Dance Concert Weekend is 1 Week Away! We are so excited to see your amazing dancers grace the stage next weekend! Here are some reminders to help make the weekend run smoothly for the dancers, volunteers and audience members. If you signed up to volunteer, you will receive a separate email on Monday with your job details and arrival time. Dress Rehearsal: Dancers should arrive with hair and makeup done, wearing their first costume of the day. Enter through the main lobby, then turn right just before the cafeteria to reach the theatre. Signs will be posted. Each class has a labeled row—dancers should sit in their class row only. Parents can sit in unmarked rows or in the back. Only one adult per dancer, please. No food or drink in the theatre (water is fine). Spills result in a cleaning fee so please leave your coffees in the car. Snacks must be eaten in the hallway or cafeteria. Please don’t eat in costume or put a cover up on over your costume before eating. Once your dancer is done with their routine(s), you’re free to leave—you don’t need to stay for the full rehearsal block. Performance Appearance Info: If you are unsure of your dancer’s hairstyle, hair piece info, shoes, anything they need to provide you can find that under the class resources in the portal. Here are the instructions to locate that information: Each class has a Performance Appearance image uploaded to the class resources. To access you'll log into the portal, via the website or SCD App. Click on My Account and scroll down until you see the class card for the class/es your child is enrolled, on the class card you'll see View Resources, click on View Resources and see Performance Appearance. That will open an image of the costume, with hair instructions, costume instructions, and shoes. Makeup Info and Hair Tutorials: You can find helpful videos for the required makeup and hairstyles here. The bun boutique is only available on show day. For the Teen makeup tutorial: eyelashes are optional if your dancer is only in aerial or a 1/2 level class. Tickets: All tickets must be purchased online via our ticketing website. No tickets will be sold at the door. Cell service inside Noble High School and on the property isn’t the best so I highly recommend doing it before you arrive to the theatre. On that note, please make sure you either print your tickets or screen shot them on your phone. To make seating go quickly be sure to have them ready to go when you arrive. Show Day: Arrival Times - Dancers 10 and under arrive 30 minutes before showtime Dancers 11+ that are only enrolled in tap, hip hop, or aerial arrive 30 minutes before showtime Dancers 11+ in ballet, jazz or modern levels 2+ arrive two hours before showtime for warm-up. Warm-up is not optional for the advanced (levels 3+) ballet, jazz and modern dancers. Dancers should arrive in costume, with hair and makeup done—unless using the Bun Boutique. If you're using the Bun Boutique, please send your dancer with a hairbrush, hair ties, bobby pins, a hair net, hairspray, and gel. Only bring essential items to the backstage dressing room: performance shoes, additional costumes (if needed), a water bottle, and a clean, quiet activity. Dancers will be checked in and out in costume. Due to quick transitions between show halves and preparation for the next show, there won’t be time to change into other clothing. Please follow the drop-off instructions below. IMPORTANT: Backstage Drop-Off & Pick-Up We are dedicated to keeping your children safe during the show. Please follow these procedures carefully. Dancers Age 10 & Under in the FIRST HALF* Before the Show (30 min prior): Go to the designated check-in/out area and pick up your dancer’s name tag (this acts like a claim ticket). Leave your dancer with check-in volunteers; only staff, chaperones, and dancers are allowed backstage. At Intermission: Line up at the same check-in area to pick up your dancer (present the name tag). Do not enter dressing rooms or backstage. Your dancer will be released in costume; you can bring a cover-up if desired. Dancers Age 10 & Under in the SECOND HALF* Before the Show: Check in and collect your dancer’s name tag. Your dancer may sit with you for the first half. At Intermission: Return to the check-in area; leave your dancer with the volunteers to go backstage. Only staff, chaperones, and dancers are allowed backstage. End of the Show: Line up at the check-in/out area to pick up your dancer (present the name tag). Your dancer will be released in costume; you can bring a cover-up if desired. *Please refer to the order of the show to note which half your dancer is in Dancers Age 11+ Must check in before the show, regardless of which half they’re in. Will remain backstage for the entire show to reduce congestion when releasing younger dancers. If only in one half, they may watch the other half with a volunteer or stay backstage. After the show, the chaperone escorts them to check-out to meet their families in the lobby. Extras! Bake Sale Donations: We are still in need of some bake sale donations. All sales go to support our scholarship fund. You can sign up in the lobby or just bring an individually packaged item to the cafeteria on the day of the shows. All bake sale items are sold for $1. Star Messages: Send your star a message. All messages will be delivered after their final performance of the weekend! You can purchase them from the front desk this week or on Sunday before the show and at intermission. All star messages must be paid for by cash or check. Flowers: Pre-order your recital day flowers here! This is a great way to make sure you get what you are looking for and no need to worry about stopping on your way to the theatre.
