We are Back!

We’re back and ready to dance! 💃✨ Classes kicked off last Thursday, and the studio is already buzzing with energy. It was such a joy to see so many familiar faces return and to welcome new dancers into our community. We can’t wait to watch the growth, creativity, and fun that this season will bring!

It’s that magical time of year—Nutcracker season! Sole City Dance is thrilled to present our 20th annual Nutcracker, and you won’t want to miss it. Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 6th.

Auditions are open to all dancers ages 7 and up who are actively taking at least one ballet class per week. You do not need to be an SCD student to participate.

SCD students who are 6 years old and enrolled in Dance Works 2 for the 2025–2026 season, and who completed Dance Works 1 in 2024–2025, are also welcome to audition.

Audition registration is in the Portal under events. If you don’t have an active account you can register here.

Don’t get caught not in dress code!

Not sure what your dancer should wear each week? No worries, you can find our full dress code by dance style right on the website.

If your dancer has back-to-back classes, a leotard and tights base is the way to go! It makes quick changes easy and keeps them from missing out on valuable class time (especially when the studio gets hopping in the evenings).

And here’s a pro tip: we’ve got a rack of gently used dancewear in the lobby, most pieces are just $5! Perfect for those “oops, I forgot” moments. Plus, we always keep extra hair ties at the front desk, so your dancer is never stuck without one.

SCD Outreach Performance Companies

Love to Perform?
Do you thrive on learning choreography in a fun, fast-paced environment? Then one of SCD’s Outreach Performance Companies might be the perfect fit for you!

We offer two groups:

• The Young Company (ages 8–12), Fridays 4:00–5:15

• Solstice Dance Company (ages 13+), Fridays 5:00–6:30

Joining a company gives dancers the chance to:

• Take on exciting, challenging choreography at a quicker pace

• Perform in additional community events and special opportunities

• Build confidence, teamwork, and self-awareness as an artist

• Use the power of dance to make a positive impact in the community

✨ Please note: To join a company, dancers must also be enrolled in a technique class such as ballet, modern, or jazz.

Don’t miss out—the last day to join for this dance year is October 31st! Company tuition is just $35 extra per month.

Dance Concert Photos and Videos

Dance Concert Video Digital Downloads can now be accessed from the website. Just head over to the online store and put the free shows into your cart. Each download will be the link to the video along with the program with the timestamp of each dance.

You can find the performance photos here. You’ll access the galleries with the password SCD25. All images are free to download, and prints can also be purchased directly from the album.
