Some of you may have seen a new face around the studio. I hired an Assistant Director this spring and she started in June. Her name is Patrice and she is amazing! See below to learn a little bit more about her!

Hi everyone, I’m Patrice! I am very excited to be back in the dance environment. A little bit about myself- I grew up dancing at Dance N’ Motion / DNM2, became a Teacher Assistant in 2012, then a Dance Instructor from 2013 up until their closure in 2024. I also worked for Rochester Child Care Center with grades K-5 for 10 years. There, I worked as a Site Director for 5 years, then became an Administrative Assistant for the remainder 5 years. Combining those work experiences is what led me here!

Additionally, I currently work with Spaulding High School’s Music Department (since 2014). While there, I choreograph for their Marching Band’s Colorguard (specialize in rifle, but also love flag work), Drama Production Musicals (most recently Cinderella 2024 and Matilda 2025), and have previously choreographed for their choir. 

All that being said, dance has been my biggest passion since I can remember. 

Fun facts about me: My favorite styles of dance are Contemporary and Tap. I got married to my husband on Halloween. I love musicals.

We wanted to take a moment and spotlight a few classes for this fall. We are offering Contemporary Jazz and Lyrical Jazz for ages 11+ for any level! This is great if you are new to dance and want to try one of these popular styles. It is also a great option if you are looking to take multiple Jazz classes a week!

Conditioning for Dancers is new this year. Elevate your dance performance and reduce injury risk with our Conditioning for Dancers class. We’ll use targeted exercises to build strength, stability, and endurance, focusing on key muscle groups and proper alignment. Expect practical, dance-specific drills that improve control and stamina, helping you perform with greater power and precision.

Int/Adv Ballet on Saturdays with Courtney. This class will be run in two 12-week sessions billed monthly with your regular classes so it counts towards your multi-class discount. This class will expose our upper level ballet students to various ballet styles and techniques and also allow for some flexibility in class structure to tailor it to what the dancers may need each week.

Dance Photos can be picked up starting July 7th, Monday through Thursday 4:45-8:00.

Fall leveling recommendations and evaluations have been posted to all accounts for the applicable classes. Our faculty puts a great deal of care, time, and collaboration into each evaluation and class placement. We thoughtfully consider where each class left off in the curriculum and what group will best support your dancer’s growth.

Our goal is to create strong, well-rounded dancers with a solid foundation—giving each student the tools and confidence they need to keep progressing. We always have your dancer’s best interest in mind and are committed to placing them in an environment where they can thrive.

If a class you are looking to register for is full please add yourself to the waitlist. If we have enough interest or demand we may be able to add additional classes.

Scholarship and Work Study Application is Live

The Scholarship and Work Study Application for the 2025–2026 dance year is now available on our website. All applications and required documents are due by August 14th to be considered.

We’re also looking for a few people interested in cleaning the studio as part of the Work Study program. If you're interested, please complete the same Scholarship and Work Study Application.

Dance Concert Photos and Videos

Dance Concert Video Digital Downloads can now be accessed from the website. Just head over to the online store and put the free shows into your cart. Each download will be the link to the video along with the program with the timestamp of each dance.

You can find the performance photos here. You’ll access the galleries with the password SCD25. All images are free to download, and prints can also be purchased directly from the album.
