Hounsell Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Alice O, our Hounsell Scholarship recipient for current students! Established in honor of Sole City Dance’s founder and longtime Executive Director, Christine Hounsell, this annual scholarship recognizes two dedicated tap dancers each year—one current student and one graduating high school senior—awarding each a $250 grant to further their dance education. We’re thrilled to support Alice on her continued journey in dance!

Alice is a dedicated, hard-working dancer. For years Alice has put great effort into her technique and performance. This is her second year student teaching for younger tap classes. In these classes she has been nothing but encouraging towards her students while offering support and assistance in their learning. Alice always comes to class ready to learn with a smile on her face!

The Summer Dance Schedule has been released on the website!

Dance Northeast is this weekend!!

Dance Northeast is Sole City Dance’s annual celebration of our regional dance community, a full weekend of performances and master classes designed to inspire dancers of all ages.

🎭 Performances
Saturday, March 7
📍 Marshwood High School | South Berwick, Maine

2:00 PM Performance – Featuring student choreographers and junior companies
7:00 PM Performance – Showcasing senior companies from studios and dance education centers across the region

🩰 Master Classes
Sunday, March 8
📍 Sole City Dance Studios

Master classes are open to all dancers—so invite friends from other studios to join in! Classes are filling so don’t wait to sign up! You must register online before the classes!

Beginner/Intermediate – Ages 8+
Intermediate/Advanced – Ages 12+

Performances will be held at the Rochester Opera House on April 3rd at 7:00 PM and April 4th at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. You won’t want to miss it!
