Dance Concert Shirts!

When we return from break we’ll only have 26 days until the dance concert! Try to make sure to attend all your classes!!

Just a reminder we don’t do makeups the last two weeks of classes, May 17th to May 30th, to allow for classes to focus on the finishing touches of their dances! We can’t wait to see everyone shine on stage!

Each class has a Performance Appearance image uploaded to the class resources. To access you'll log into the portal, via the website or SCD App. Click on My Account, and scroll down until you see the class card for the class/es your child is enrolled, on the class card you'll see View Resources, click on View Resources and see Performance Appearance. That will open a image of the costume, with hair instructions, costume instructions, and shoes.

Volunteer Jobs Still Needing to be Filled!

Show #1

We need 1 person for each of the following jobs:

Tween/Teen Dressing Room Chaperone: Arrive 45 minutes before the show. Chaperone’s the Tween/Teen dressing room. Making sure dancers stay in the room until it’s their time to perform. Tween/Teen dancers only get checked in and out before the show and after the show. Background Check on file required.

Show #2

We need 1 person for each of the following jobs:

Dressing Room Supervisor/Check-in/Out: Arrive 1 hour before the show. Handles checking the dancers in and out. Can sit in the audience once everyone is checked in and then return to the check-in/out table before intermission. Can watch the second half of the show and must return to check in/out at the end of the show. Background Check on file required.

Tween/Teen Audience Chaperone: Arrive 45 minutes before the show. You’ll collect the Tween/Teen dancers from the dressing room who are only in the second half of the show and bring them to the audience to watch. Bring them backstage at intermission and take the dancers in the other half to watch. At the end of the show bring the dancers back from the audience for bows. Background Check on file required.

We need 2 people for the following job:

Bake Sale: Arrive 30 minutes before the show. Handle sales before the show, at intermission and for 30 minutes after the show.

Show #3

We need 1 person for each of the following jobs:

Bun Boutique: Arrive 45 minutes before the show and help dancers put their hair up in a nice neat bun. Once the show begins you may head to the audience.

Tween/Teen Audience Chaperone: Arrive 45 minutes before the show. You’ll collect the Tween/Teen dancers from the dressing room who are only in the second half of the show and bring them to the audience to watch. Sign up in the lobby or email reception@solecitydance.org and let them know what job you’d like and they will sign you up!

Ticket Sales:

We still have a few more volunteer spots to fill before tickets will go on sale. If you can help we would greatly appreciate it!

Free Ticket Codes:

If you have a dancer ages 10 and under that is only in one half of the show you will receive a free ticket code to be used for their ticket to watch the half of the show they are not performing in.

If you volunteered for a job during the dance concert weekend you will be getting a free ticket code as well. Unless you are an usher.

If you are getting multiple free tickets you will only get one code but it will be for the number of tickets you are supposed to get for free.

We are using a new ticketing company and they will be emailing out ticket codes directly the day before tickets go on sale. I accidentally sent out a batch of codes over the weekend when uploading email addresses. You can either hang on to that email until tickets go on sale but I will resend them the night before as well.

Dance Picture Day

We have confirmed our picture day with Austin Studios as Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th. So mark your calendars! You can find the picture day schedule here.

Thank you to those who took the time to respond to the survey. The majority of you wanted to stick with printed images so we are going to follow the majority request for this year.

SCD App

We now have an SCD APP! This is an easy way to register for classes, find newsletters, receive notifications, and submit absences.

All last-minute notifications for class cancellations will come through the app. We are in the time of illnesses and soon to be in the time of winter weather so be sure to have the app downloaded and activated so you don’t miss anything!

Download the SCD App, request a code to activate your account, click My Account, and log in using your portal credentials. Make sure your notifications are turned on.

The SCD App is available in the Apple Store and Google Play.
