1.     What is your favorite style of dance and why? My favorite style of dance is aerial. It’s so unique, challenging, and beautiful. 

2.     How long have you been dancing at SCD? 

I have been dancing at Sole City since 2015. Eight years! 

3.     What is your favorite role you or piece you have done and why?

One of my favorite pieces I have performed with Sole City would have to be my first Jazz number to “Razzle Dazzle”. 

4.     What is your favorite SCD memory?

Some of my favorite Sole City memories include chatting with my friends before and after classes. 

5.     What will you miss the most about SCD?

I will miss seeing my teachers and friends every week. 

6.     What are your plans for the fall? 

Attending community college and working. 

7.     What are your dreams for the future?

Continuing exercising my passion for dance, build my racing career, and live happy and healthy. 

Dance Picture Day

Dance pictures are this Sunday at SCD. You can find the picture day schedule here.

Throughout the day the whole studio will be here so the studio and parking lot will be very busy. Please do your best not to block the parking spots in front of our neighbor, Granite State Patio, and Game Rooms. If you park in the driveway leading up to the ambulance business make sure you are as far over on the grass as possible so the ambulances can still get by.

• ***Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled photo time with your order forms completed before arriving and payment ready.
Cash or check only! Checks should be made out to Austin Street Studios. You can use one check for multiple forms just be sure to put the check number on each form.

• Please note that we have a very tight schedule. In order to stay on schedule, it is crucial that you arrive on time. We are unable to wait for tardy dancers, as this pushes everyone else back.

• Please attend photos even if you do not plan to place an order, as it is important we have the entire class present for the group photo. If you know you are unable to attend please notify your instructor.

• Order forms MUST be handed in at the time of photos, please have them filled out and ready. We have printed some copies of the order form and they are in the waiting room. You can print your own from the Soul to Sole 2023 page.

ABT Placement Class

The next ABT Placement class is Saturday, May 20th. You must register ahead of time.

1:45-3:15 for students currently level ABT 2b+

3:45-5:00 for students currently level ABT 1a, 1b, 2a or new to SCD

Summer dance and our June Pop-ups are great ways to continue your training or try a new style. We offer 3 weeks of individual classes during the month of June. The remainder of the summer we offer classes, camps, and intensives. Our summer class session runs for 5 weeks it begins Monday, July 10th, and runs until Thursday, August 10th.

Costumes

All costumes have been sent home at this time. If you were absent last week check in with your instructor. Each class will have a Performance Appearance Sheet posted to the class resources in the portal. This sheet will tell you how hair should be done, hair piece if applicable needs to go, if you need to purchase tights, makeup, or if costumes need any tweaking.

SCD App

We now have an SCD APP! This is an easy way to register for classes, find newsletters, receive notifications, and submit absences. All last-minute notifications will come through the app we will no longer use text notifications. Be sure to download the SCD App, activate your account, and turn on notifications.
