●     Order show day flowers here!

Tips for a smooth show:

★ Be on time!  Plan to arrive early for every event and you will feel more relaxed.

★ Put your name on every piece of your costume (including shoes & headpieces), in the event that an item gets separated from the rest.

★ If you have quick changes, consider purchasing a nude leotard to wear under your costume.  Choose a low-cut camisole top that won’t show much under a costume.

★ Pack lightly and carefully with everything easily accessible so clean up is quick and easy.  Older dancers, speak to your instructor for packing tips such as a layered basket of costumes packed in the order of your performance and a trash bag or bin to toss the costume pieces you are done with into. This is strongly suggested if you have a lot of quick changes.

★ Make food plans so you don’t get too hungry.  Water and a snack that won’t stain your costume are appropriate for rehearsal and the show.

★ Bring something quiet to do, for those times when you must wait.  Music, games, a book, and coloring are good choices.

★ If the thought of wrangling your dancer’s hair into a bun keeps you up at night, visit the “Bun Boutique!”  Simply pack your child’s brush, elastics, hair pins and hair spray and one of our amazing volunteers will happily whip up a beautiful bun in a snap! (show day only)

Day of the show…

●   Dancers 10 & under arrive 30 minutes before show time, in costume, with make-up and hair done (visit the Bun Boutique, if you need assistance!)

●   If you are a back-stage volunteer or class chaperone, please arrive an hour before show time.

●   Report to the designated check-in area and check in with the dressing room supervisor according to the separate instructions included in this packet.

●     Dancers 11+ who are only enrolled in tap, hip hop, or aerial arrive 30 minutes before showtime.

●    Teen/tween dancers (11+) in ballet, jazz, or modern in levels 2+ arrive 2 hours prior to show time, set up your belongings in your assigned dressing areas, and report to the stage for warm-up.  Please be punctual! Warm-up is not optional for our advanced (levels 3+) ballet, jazz, and modern dancers.

●   Doors to the theater will open for audience members approximately 30 minutes before show time.

During the show…

●   There are no flash or large screen cameras allowed at the concert.  This policy is for the safety of the dancers and the comfort of your fellow audience members. (Digital download of the performances will be provided to each student within two weeks of the performance.)

After the show...

●  Follow the pick-up rules in the attached pick up/drop off information sheet.

In an effort to ensure young students’ safety, Sole City Dance will strictly enforce the student drop-off and pick-up policy. Thank you in advance for abiding by this policy and helping us keep everyone safe and organized!

●  All youth and teen dancers must pick up their dressing areas, leaving them clean and orderly. Please do not make more work for our generous volunteers.

●  Praise your dancer for his or her fabulous performance!

Have a great show!  Thank you from all of us at Sole City Dance!

IMPORTANT!!!

 Backstage Drop Off/Pick-Up Procedures

for Parents of Young Children and Youth Dancers (10 & under)

We are committed to making sure your children remain safe during the performance and throughout the drop-off and pick-up process.  Please read the information below carefully.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

IF YOUR DANCER (10 & UNDER) IS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE SHOW*:

BEFORE THE SHOW…

●      You and your dancer should report to the designated check-in/out area (follow the signs) 30 minutes before show time.

●      Pick up the name tag with your child’s name on it.  This will be like a claim ticket so we can ensure each dancer leaves with the same adult who brought them.

●      Leave your dancer with the check-in volunteers to be taken backstage. In order to minimize chaos and keep dancers safe, only dancers, chaperones and staff will be permitted inside the dressing room. No one else will be allowed past the check-in area.

AT INTERMISSION…

●      You (or the adult with the name tag) should line up back at the same designated check-in area toclaim the dancer.  DO NOT go inside the dressing room or backstage areas. Please have the rest of the family wait at another spot so the check-in/out area does not become too crowded.

●      You and your dance may go and enjoy the second half of the show!

●      Dancers will be released in costume. Please don’t tell your dancer to change backstage before coming out, this slows down the check out process. Either plan to bring a cover up to go over the costume or have them change with you after being checked out.

IF YOUR  DANCER (10 & UNDER) IS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SHOW*...

BEFORE THE SHOW…

●      You and your dancer should report to the designated check-in/out area (follow the signs).

●      Pick up the name tag with your child’s name on it. This will be like a claim ticket so we can ensure that each dancer leaves with the same adult who brought them.

●      Your dancer may then join you in the audience for the first half of the performance.

AT INTERMISSION…

●      Proceed to the same designated check-in/out area. Leave your dancer with check-in volunteers to be escorted backstage. In order to minimize chaos and keep dancers safe, only dancers, chaperones and staff will be permitted inside the dressing room and backstage areas. No one else will be allowed past the check-in area.

AT THE END OF THE SHOW…

●      You (or the adult with the name tag) should line up at the check-in/out area to claim the dancer.  DO NOT go into the dressing room or backstage area.  Please have the rest of your family wait at another spot so the area does not become too crowded.

●      Dancers will be released in costume. Please don’t tell your dancer to change backstage before coming out, this slows down the check out process. Either plan to bring a cover up to go over the costume or have them change with you after being checked out.

*Please refer to the order of the show to note which half your dancer is in

**All dancers 11+ go to check-in before the show regardless of what half of the show they are in and remain backstage for the duration of the show.
