  • Heels

    This class introduces the art of dancing in heels, blending elements of sassy jazz, jazz funk, and hip hop. We'll cover key movement patterns and teach a piece of stylized choreography. Suitable for various levels, some dance experience is helpful but not mandatory. While heels are suggested, sneakers are also acceptable. Choose clean, comfortable heels for an enjoyable and confidence-building dance experience.

  • Tap Workshop

    Come join us for a tap workshop where students will get to work on their technique, rhythm, and learn new skills. Students will workshop different rhythm exercises, learn challenging sequences, and will be taught some fun choreography!

  • Lyra Workshop 10-13 & 14+

    Join our Lyra Workshop for an exhilarating aerial experience! Learn the art of graceful movements, spinning techniques, and breathtaking poses on the Lyra (aerial hoop). Suitable for aerialists with at least 2 years of training, come soar with us!

  • Contemporary Improv 8-10 y.o. & 11+

    Contemporary dance is all about self-expression, storytelling, and freedom. It pulls from traditional dance styles like Ballet & Jazz but breaks away from the strict techniques and movements that make those styles so recognizable. This workshop will have a strong emphasis on improvisation and different improvisation techniques.

    Join our Musical Theatre Dance Class and bring your favorite Broadway hits to life through movement!     Discover the perfect fusion of yoga and Pilates in our Yogalates class! Strengthen your body, improve flexibility, and enhance mindfulness through a blend of yoga poses and Pilates exercises. Suitable for all levels, this class offers a harmonious workout experience that leaves you feeling balanced and rejuvenated.

  • Nutrition for Dancers 101

    An introductory nutrition course with Registered Dietitian, Emily Pleadwell, where we will review basic aspects of nutrition with a focus on fueling your body for dance. Recipe ideas and a snack are included! Parents are welcome to participate.

    Dancers are artistic athletes because they are required to demonstrate dynamic synergy between artistry and athleticism for that reason strength training is inevitable to meet physical demands. Join Dr. Meghan R. Fallon PT, DPT to learn a comprehensive strength program built for dancers. Understand the science of strength, basic programming as well as movement progression. Let’s start treating dancers like the athletes they are!

  • Kickline Workshop

    Experience the iconic style of kickline dance, inspired by the legendary Radio City Rockettes! Learn to master the eye-high leg kicks and synchronized precision of this dynamic chorus line dance form. Our class offers a blend of technique, coordination, and showmanship, suitable for all levels. Get ready to kick, dance, and dazzle like a true Rockette!

  • Student Intern Training

    The Student Intern Training is open to all SCD students ages 11+ who are interested in becoming a student teaching intern. If you are a current student teaching intern you are required to attend the training. Only students who attend the training will be allowed to intern in the summer or fall.

  • Open Modern Improv 3+

    Dance improvisation (commonly known as improv) is the process of creating movement without pre-planning any steps or choreography. Free movement is a great way to have fun, relieve any stress and explore new ways to move and the best part is there are absolutely no rules! This class will help dancers improve their improv skills using different prompts and themes to help discover their movements. They will be working in the style of Modern as they explore their improvisational movements. This class is open to any Modern student with at least 3 years of experience.
